Drink WATER!
Drink WATER!!
As a whole, people do not drink enough water everyday. We are dehydrated and our health suffers as a result.
What if I told you that you will see many differences in your health just by forming a habit of drinking your necessary amount of water everyday?
Would you do it?
Will you just experiment with me and see what happens?
Let’s try it.
First things first – how much water do you need? Is it the one size fits all of 8 glasses a day? Not exactly. This is a good starting point though. If you just want to form the habit – start with those 8 glasses.
For a more accurate calculation, let’s get personal.
- How much do you weigh?
- Do you exercise daily?
- What is the weather like today?
Here is the breakdown:
- Weight: For every pound of body weight, turn to ounces of water.
Example: 150lbs = 150oz of water (don’t gawk yet – this is NOT how much you need to drink) - Activity: If you exercise everyday – and I mean breaking a sweat exercising – multiply that number by 0.75 to find out how much you should drink daily.
Example: 150oz of water x 0.75 = 112.5 oz of water a day
If you are not active everyday, just multiply by 0.5.
Example: 150 oz of water x 0.5 = 75 oz of water a day - Weather: On hot days, you need a little more to stay hydrated. How much is up to you and your thirst level. Listen to your body as a guide.
When is the best time to drink water?
It is not a good idea to drink water with your meals as it can actually prevent proper digestion.
